For 13 years, Easter Seals UCP Stepping Stones Children’s Center has provided support to young children in Sanford. As an inclusive 5-star childcare center, Stepping Stones provides nurturing environments for children with and without disabilities ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The center is guided by the philosophy that children with disabilities are children first, and beyond that, they possess certain special needs that require adaptations to allow them to reach their fullest potential.
What Do We Do?
Stepping Stones provides early intervention, childcare, pediatric therapy and family support during the critical years when young minds and muscles are growing and when services of this nature can have the greatest impact for children. The children’s center serves 43 boys and girls – half of whom have disabilities such as cerebral palsy, limited communication skills, Down Syndrome, and/or medically compromised conditions.
